Porta Nuova is a large and majestic stone gate which, for many centuries, has been the main entrance to the city of Verona. Its strategic position makes it an obligatory passage for cars and for all the tourists coming from the railway station, from the motorway and from VeronaFiere.
In fact, Porta Nuova is located in the center of Piazzale Porta Nuova, the most important and busiest roundabout in the city. It is the meeting between: Viale del Piave, Viale L. dal Cero, Via Franco Faccio, the Oriani ring road, the Raggio di Sole ring road and Corso di Porta Nuova;
To get an idea of ​​the visibility of Porta Nuova area, just think that every day about 150 thousand vehicles go to the center of Verona, over 250 thousand during the weekend, of which 1.5 million are only at the Arena. The Municipality of Verona has decided to carry out the first major restoration of the historic monument by entrusting the works to THEmedia, which will aim to bring the facade back to its former glory.
